At Newlands, music is taught in a practical way which allows children to explore a range of different styles and genres of music.

We encourage the children to listen to a variety of music and share their thoughts and feelings using key vocabulary. The children are given the opportunity to explore different instruments, compose and perform a range of genres.

 

Throughout their time at Newlands, children will revisit certain skills, such as performance, to deepen their understanding of Music.
